What is Tixel®?

Tixel® is a non-invasive technology that rejuvenates and revitalizes sun damaged and aging skin. It can be used in a variety of locations on the body, primarily around the face, eyes, neck and décolleté (upper chest). Tixel® is an ideal technology for those interested in:

Tightening loose skin,
Softening grooves along the face such as crows’ feet or marionette lines,
Reducing wrinkling,
Improving skin texture, and
Improving skin hyper pigmentation.

How does Tixel® work?

Tixel® is a heat-based technology, applying a titanium tip to the skin and transferring thermal energy quickly, safely and relatively painlessly. Sessions typically last around twenty minutes, and should be repeated 2-6 times for optimal results, with a month’s time between sessions. Tixel® is radiation and laser free.

What is the downtime after treatment?

Following treatment, patients can expect their skin to be slightly swollen, warm, and red – this feeling is similar to sunburn. Depending on the size and region of the treated skin, these effects may last only 3-4 hours or 2-3 days. Micro-crusting may appear on skin the day after treatment, but this will disappear after a few days and can be covered with makeup.

The minimal downtime caused by Tixel® adds to its appeal, as it does not require patients to take time off work and any uncomfortable symptoms resolve themselves within a few days of the treatment.

When will I see results?

On the day of treatment, it is common for patients to feel that their skin has attained a “glow” or “plumped” look. Patients often report feeling a “marked difference” after just one or two treatments, which must take place at least one month apart, but more significant improvement will be seen 3-6 months after the series of treatments has been completed. Following the competition of their treatment series, patients report improvement in the quality, pigmentation, tone, texture and elasticity of their skin.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatment sessions required will be based upon your individual goals and the overall condition of your skin. Generally, Tixel® treatment will last three to four sessions, but some patients may elect for up to six treatments.
